WoW: Midnight Is Finally Making Transmog Much Cheaper And More Convenient

World of Warcraft's transmogrification system is finally getting a major facelift with its 2026 Midnight expansion, with one-time gold costs for outfits and the ability to automatically swap between looks based on certain situations.As it is now, players in Blizzard's MMORPG use transmog to transform the appearance of individual items into different ones, allowing them to create and save different outfits. It costs varying amounts of gold each time an appearance is changed.However, because the transmog is tied to the items themselves and not the item slot it goes in, getting a new piece of gear means having to frequently re-transmog gear. It's particularly noticeable at the beginning of an expansion or the start of a new season, when players are constantly getting new gear upgrades. Rather than spending the gold to transmog each item immediately, many players just wait, knowing they'll receive yet another item upgrade in a few hours or days that will require more gold to transmog.
