Call Of Duty Has New Security Measures, Adding Secure-Boot Requirement

Call of Duty's battle against hackers continues, and Activision has announced some major updates to the game's Ricochet anti-cheat for Season 5 and beyond. The publisher also confirmed legal action taken against several cheat makers.Season 5 of Black Ops 6 and Warzone arrives on August 7, and the update will include the rollout of two PC-based security features: TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot. TPM 2.0 (Trusted Platform Module) is a hardware-based security feature built onto CPUs or motherboards to verify that the PC's boot process has not been tampered with, while Secure Boot makes sure a PC can only load trusted software when Windows starts.Activision says these two new features will help Ricochet "ensure that players are starting the game from a secure and cheat-free foundation."Continue Reading at GameSpot
